A walk across the former Saint Hilaire hospital site, demolished in 2018 and giving way to a 40-hectare garden in motion at an altitude of 1200 metres. A 4-hour walking route starting from the funicular, following an original "topological map".
The former health establishments of Saint Hilaire were demolished in 2018; the rubble was crushed and spread on site, and the land was reshaped and dotted with forest plantings. Small traces of the hospitals and their grounds remain on site, revealing the human presence of the past. The demolition itself leaves gaps and passages that outline, in negative, the place of the buildings in today's landscape. The " re-naturalisation ", its plantings and its new features project different views into the future. All these fragments of history are listed in the « Topological map » published by the association « Les milieux », which observes the vanished hospital site as a great garden in motion. As the legend goes, one buried heritage may hide another.
