The Maison Bergès in Lancey traces the advent of the paper industry and of hydroelectricity, presented under the aegis of a visionary industrialist eager to make "books and light" available to all. The personality and place of Aristide Bergès in the history of technology are at the heart of the permanent exhibition.
Housed in the home of the innovative engineer, this unique place of memory combines industry and the arts. The Bergès family had befriended several artists: Alfons Mucha, master of Art Nouveau, Gaston Bussière, Auguste Davin... whose works can be discovered throughout the visit of the family home, which has kept its original decor.
