Karma Ling is a Buddhist institute established within the walls of the former Charterhouse of Saint-Hugon. Today it is home to a spiritual centre as well as many cultural activities. (full presence institute, Dharma university, yoga...)
Karma-Ling reopened its doors in May 2018, after the fire that ravaged the great charterhouse in December 2017.

In 1979, under the inspiration of Kyabjé Kalu Rinpoché, an eminent Tibetan master, and of Lama Denys Rinpoché, his oldest Western disciple, it regained its vocation as a major spiritual site and took the name Karma Ling, a place for practising and studying the teachings of the Buddha.
In 2000, the whole site was named the Domaine d’Avalon. It includes 55 hectares of forest, making it an educational eco-site whose patron is Pierre Rabhi, the renowned agrobiologist and humanist.
The tour (about an hour and a half) highlights the historical, cultural and spiritual richness of the site from the founding of the Carthusian order in 1084 to the present day; it ends with a friendly cup of tea.
guided tour of the estate: during a walk of about 1h30, you will discover the exceptional natural environment of the Avallon estate, its culture and its history, from the Carthusian fathers to the present day. An overview of the site's various activities will also be offered.
Discovery weekend: discovering the basics of full presence meditation over a weekend means discovering a new way of living in the present, better understanding how we function and how to live well with our emotions. These weekends can also serve as a refresher for those who have already received meditation instruction or have already practised.
Discovery day: take a day to get started with full presence (mindfulness) and discover the Avallon eco-site, its cultural and historical richness and its activities. You will share lunch with us, the first 20 minutes of which take place in silence.
The continuous retreat:
It allows everyone to come and meditate at any time of the year. 365 days a year, join the programme for 1 hour, a day, a week or more. To fully experience full presence, it is recommended to follow the continuous retreat for at least 1 week.
