Fredet Berges hydroelectric power station

Saturday 17 September 2022

Monday 19 September 2022

Venue: telephone appointment

The FREDET-BERGES hydroelectric company (SHFB) operates in particular in the field of electricity production and distribution

Owned by SHFB, this new 3.6 MW power station is fed by a new 2.8 km penstock, buried along its entire length, from a water intake completely redeveloped in the municipality of Laval. This entirely new facility replaces the three production plants of Brignoud and Bas-Laval (Loury), built more than a century ago by Messrs Fredet and Bergès, pioneers of "Houille Blanche" (hydroelectric power). This new hydroelectric development is named "Fredet-Bergès" in tribute to the respective founders of the three historic production plants. This redevelopment, which meets the new environmental standards, was designed to ensure better integration of the power station into the environment and the local natural landscape.
