Themed trail La Pierre

On this heritage trail you will discover, in 6 stages, the village's places of memory and picturesque sites, complemented by a viewpoint indicator.

Stage 1: The Veaubeaunnais manor house
The Veaubeaunnais manor house, dating from the early 15th century, consists of a squat main building originally flanked by two towers.

Stage 2: The La Pierre fountain

Stage 3: Château Vieux
Château-Vieux was built in La Pierre, on the Butte, just above the remains of a Gallo-Roman villa. We date its construction to the 12th century.

Stage 4: Saint Pierre Church
In 1775, Monteynard had just begun building the château de Cruzille in Tencin, and also wished to fulfil the wishes of the inhabitants of the village of La Pierre.

Stage 5: The presbytery
In 1773, Louis-François de Monteynard, then a minister, had the new presbytery built in order to give the village priest a much more welcoming home.

Stage 6: The School and Town Hall building
It was not until a council decision of 21 July 1878 that the children of La Pierre were finally able to go to school in the village. They were housed in the former presbytery.
