Between St Pierre de Chartreuse and the Petites Roches, and the starting point for the Dent de Crolles, the site has strong landscape appeal: small-scale landscapes with a mountain atmosphere, and broad views over the Dent de Crolles, the Belledonne range...
On the edge of the Chartreuse and at the gateway to its high plateaux nature reserve, the col du Coq rivals the Dent de Crolles. The beauty of its landscapes matches their diversity, with forests, meadows and the Pravouta and Ayes pastures. Here you will find beech woods, fir forests, dry meadows… and a whole mosaic of typical mid-mountain habitats. Discovering the high-altitude landscapes, you will be in the territory of the black grouse. With alpine choughs flying overhead, you will enjoy the wealth of mountain flowers as well as protected butterflies such as the apollo.

Educational Trail
Information panels have been installed at the start of the trail, which takes you around Pravouta and back down via the Dent de Crolles path (5 km loop with 260 m of ascent).
A treasure hunt, with several clues to find along the way, will delight young and old alike.

From July to November, ENS guides offer free educational tours (information from the Petites Roches and St Pierre de Chartreuse Tourist Offices).

PLEASE NOTE: during the summer season (early June to late September), the flock of sheep is guarded by livestock guardian dogs (Patou). See the attached documents to learn the right way to behave if you meet these dogs.
From 01/05 to 01/11.
