This exhibition, entitled « Présences, art numérique – arts plastiques » (Presences, digital art - visual arts), explores the paths of current digital creation in resonance with artistic media, in a renewed dialogue with the dilapidated interiors of the Château de La Veyrie.
Since 2015, the town of Bernin has opened the Château de la Veyrie to art and, under its banner, to the light of day and to the public during summer exhibitions.
The 2018 exhibition, entitled « Absence, mémoire d’un lieu vacant » (Absence, memory of a vacant place), gave visitors the feeling of shabby interiors, abandoned as they were, furnished and embellished with works of art - a concept widely covered by the local media and very popular with the public. Conversely, the 2019 project sets out to transform La Veyrie into an artistic moment imbued with signals, vibrations and energies. The absence of the Keller family that marked the 2018 edition will be followed in 2019 by digital presences borrowing from new information technologies, presences that could hold the seeds of the venue's future.
While the 2019 exhibition « Présences, Art numérique - Arts plastiques » explores, as will have been understood, the paths of current digital creation, it does so – and this is what makes the approach unprecedented – in resonance with visual art media, in a renewed dialogue with the dilapidated interiors of this living heritage that is La Veyrie. In each room, stories will be told by the works - paintings, drawings and photographs, mostly by artists from the Grenoble area – and perceived through sensory, immersive and interactive experiences made possible by the electronic and software technologies and other devices used by artists today.
