A traditional event:
First started by the Union des commerçants (traders' association) of Montbonnot-Saint-Martin, the Christmas market, held in early December for some years, became fully run by the municipality from 1996. A great opportunity for the children of the town, who turn into Christmas-tree "decorating artists" and put on a show if they attend the école du Bourg, with the valuable involvement of local associations who lend a hand with the entertainment and the food and drink on site.
Children's celebration, parents' delight:
A real-life Father Christmas and his juggling elf, face painting, stories, a pony ride: nothing more is needed for the magic of Christmas to work at the Maison des Arts, to the great delight of young and old.
Watching your child on stage, finding an original present for grandma, swinging to the sound of a jazz trumpet, enjoying oysters with friends: all the ingredients are there to give everyone a foretaste of the joy of Christmas.
The number of exhibitors under marquees rises from 30 to 40 and, following the success of the pony rides, they will once again be available on Sunday morning.
